The Samurai are Japanese warriors who led the country during 700 years. However it was difficult to become a Samurai because the training started from the childhood. These warriors mastered almost every martial arts, the swords, wrestling, horse riding and archery. They had morals to respect and a code of honor very important written in the “Bushido” (the way of the warrior).
Concerning theirs arms, they usually used a Katana, a Wakizashi (small sword) and also a Tanto (dagger) and a bow with arrows.
For protection, Samurai had sophisticated armours for the era with quite huge helmets. Indeed, the armour weighed between 10 and 20 kg, whereas the European armours of the same era weighed 35 kg. The armours were mainly composed by a mask, a throat protection, shoulder protections, chest armour, armoured gloves, gauntlets, a fauld, cuisses and greaves.
The captain also had a commanders baton called Saihai which was used to give commands or signals his troops during battles.
